What Makes a Father?

Some may be soft spoken;
And others really loud;
Some are comfortable behind the scenes;
And others stand out in a crowd.

Some dads make things with their hands;
For others, sports is their thing;
Then, some like to read and garden;
Still others play an instrument or sing.

But it’s not about being famous;
Or how they dress or look;
And it doesn’t matter if he’s strong;
Or just happens to know how to cook.

What’s really more important;
Than all these other things;
It’s who your father knows;
The Father of all fathers, the King of all kings.

Because when he knows the Father;
And has surrendered his heart to Him;
He can be a better father to you;
This will be a race he can win.

For God the Father is his example;
On how to live each day he is here;
God will give him all he needs;
His path He will make clear.

We thank you dear Lord;
For our dads today;
There is nothing more to say;
Except Happy Father’s Day!
