“Hope in God Moving Forward in Faith”
Meet Garry Chase
If you are a regular attender at Sauk Village Bible Church or just visiting chances are you have met a very special young man named Garry Chase. He has attended here since he was just a little tyke. He was born on June 22, 1992. Garry lives with his grandparents Bob and Dorothy Barnes and his Aunt Jeanne. Garry cant talk, but that doesn’t stop him from greeting people.
With a wave of his hand and a great big smile or a thumbs up and a hearty “Yeah!” you have been royally greeted! Garry has accomplished much in his young life. He has gone to school and graduated. With the help of Marie Weldon he has written and acted in two plays. The first one was entitled Lunch At Lewis’s” and the second play was entitled “Do You Like To Get Mail?” which is really rather amusing because if you have known Garry for even just a little while he more than likely has asked you to write him a letter. And yes, you do receive letters back and you become one of his writing buddies!
He has attended our church’s youth program for many years and the children just love him. They have learned so many valuable lessons from Garry. One very important lesson is that we can all be used of God if we are willing and obedient; God has given each one a special gift. Handicap is not in God’s vocabulary; Garry Chase is one of God’s miracles. Look for him on Sunday mornings when he takes the offering, just one of his many acts of service to his Lord and King.
Back to School Prayer
Lord I pray for our school age kids and grandkids.
Grant them peace and a peaceful learning environment.
Protect them from the temptations of the evil one.
Help them with friends that build them up and not tear them down.
Open their minds to wisdom that they might discern truth.
Encourage them with the caring of teachers and friends.
Bring to their mind daily how much they are loved by you.
And in all this bless them to enjoy learning new things. Amen

Thoughts from Your Deacon
Abraham Lincoln once said, “Things may come to those who wait, but only things left by those who hustle.” In short what our 16th president was trying to say was that if we sit by waiting for something good to come our way, it may have already been taken by someone who decided to go after it. The same doesn’t always hold true with God, it turns out that He operates on His own schedule, the good things that we think we need right now, aren’t always there when we think we need them to be.
Often God takes us through trials and tribulations long before we reap the blessings that he has for us. Jesus tells us in John chapter 16 verse 33,
“I have told you these things that you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart I have overcome the world.” So my brothers and sisters in Christ take heart, God has given you the ability through the Holy Spirit to overcome the world and all the troubles it has to offer. In Jesus name, amen!

Fresh Wind Fresh Fire – by Jim Cymbala
What is Brooklyn Tabernacle’s secret to success? In “Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire” Jim Cymbala provides a one-word answer, “prayer.”
In this powerful book Pastor Cymbala will show you how passionate, persistent prayer transforms individuals, revives churches and revitalizes communities. Drawing on the teaching of scripture, his own experience and the collected wisdom of the great revivalists, Pastor Jim Cymbala seeks to fan your passion for prayer into a flame. Take this opportunity to learn how to listen to God’s voice and prayerfully depend upon God!
This is a very moving, heart wrenching true story. Roger and I read the book aloud to each other and it moved us to tears, our prayer is that it would move you to action through the power of the Holy Spirit and prayer.
Youth Ministry Blog
The Youth are currently reading and studying “Battlefield of the Mind for Teens” by Joyce Myers. It’s going great and we have wonderful discussions. We are planning an outing on Thursday, October 8th to see the new Christian movie release, “The War Room.”
We are praying about the play that the youth are planning to perform hopefully in the near future.
We have a great time when we meet and we are looking forward to many blessings this year.

The Importance of Tithing
The New Testament talks about the importance and benefits of giving. We are to give as we are able. Sometimes that means giving more than 10 percent; sometimes that may mean giving less. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Every Christian should diligently pray and seek God’s wisdom in the matter of participating in tithing and/or how much to give (James 1:5). Above all, all tithes and offerings should be given with pure motives and an attitude of worship to God and service to the body of Christ. “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
