“Hope in God Moving Forward in Faith”
Jackie M. Gutekunst nee Moore
March 23, 1932 – November 20, 2015
I met Jackie Gutekunst over forty five years ago.
I was a relatively new believer at the time, just getting my feet wet in the word so to speak. Jackie was soft spoken, humble and kind, with a sweet smile and a sly sense of humor. She was already a veteran Sunday school teacher; she and her husband Jerry were known as Mr. and Mrs. Sunday school. I had begun teaching the third and fourth grade class and Jackie the first and second graders. We stated to meet together for opening prayer and singing before class began, we also went on class outings. I cherish those memories and our friendship.
Jackie loved children and they could tell! The deep desire of her heart was to see them come to know her Jesus.
That love for children compelled her to work with them and encourage them until God took her home.
Jackie was also a woman of prayer and never once did she pray without asking God to bring her children and grandchildren to know her Savior. She also prayed they would stay in church and walk with Him throughout their lives. We each have our special memories of Jackie; God blessed us by allowing us to know her! We can follow her example only because she followed God. We loved her
and She will be missed! This will be Jackie’s First Christmas

Impossible to Conceive
“It is impossible to conceive how different things would have turned out if that birth had not happened whenever, wherever, however it did … for millions of people who have lived since, the birth of Jesus made possible not just a new way of understanding life but a new way of living it. It is a truth that, for twenty centuries, there have been untold numbers of men and women who, in untold numbers of ways, have been so grasped by the child who was born, so caught up in the message he taught and the life he lived, that they have found themselves profoundly changed by their relationship with him.” ~ Frederick Buechner
Thoughts from the Pastor’s Heart
This time of the year should be full of joy as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, but it seems
as though there are so many things that seem to be stealing our joy. Loss of love ones, finances, broken homes, broken hearts, failures, disappoints. All of these test our faith and hope in our God. In Luke 2:13-14 we see the this beautiful picture of a great company of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.” My prayer is that God
by the power of the Holy Spirit will encourage us with His Word during these times. May we all be blessed
with renewed hope, joy and peace and truly celebrate this glorious time of the year. To God be the glory, honor and praise, have a Blessed Christmas!
Youth Ministry Blog
In Bible class we discuss ways in which we go through life while keeping God close. Here we are able to communicate our situations and learn how to face the problems we have yet to embark on. As youth we absorb knowledge from the wisdom of our pastor.
We all enjoy attending class and speaking out and learning from our friends in a judge free environment. I also enjoy vocalizing my situations and getting the help from the people around me.
Kids Klub and Jr. High and High School will reconvene the first week in March.
We give continued honor and praise to God who continually meets are needs and blesses us in ways that astound us.As the year come to an end the churches finances are tight as all of yours are I’m sure.
We have a mighty God that is bigger than any need and we will continue to trust Him
Thank you for your continued financial giving!
